1984 Australian BMX Titles

The 5th Australian BMX Championships were held at Byford, Western Australia. These Championships were highlighted by the arrival of USA superstars Clint Miller and Gary Ellis (recently crowned IBMXF World Champions) along with a Freestyle display by USA legend Bob Haro and the "Grandfather of Australian Freestyle", Steve Cassap.

The Americans dominated the Pro Class taking out 1-2 (Miller 1st, Ellis 2nd) with the Aussies fighting it out for the minor placings. 10 yr old Brenton Cooper picked up his third straight number 1 title.

1984 IBMXF World Championships

World Championships
Suzuka, JapanRace

The 1984 IBMXF World Championships were held at the Suzuka race circuit in Japan. The weather was blistering hot with most days above 40 degrees celsius and humidity in the 90"s. The track was literally washed away by a typhoon earlier in the week and was rebuilt largely thanks to Abe Schneider and a contingency of Australians and other volunteers to make sure racing could go ahead.
